6KG Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher

This 6kg ABC dry powder fire extinguisher is designed for use where a larger-capacity extinguisher is required, including vehicle protection and commercial or industrial environments. It is a stored pressure ABC powder extinguisher suitable for use on Class A, B and C fires.

The extinguisher is highly effective against petrol and volatile liquids, making it suitable for vehicle protection where dry powder fire extinguishers are required.

Compliance and certification

• ADR requirement: required in all vehicles carrying dangerous goods.

ADR fire extinguisher requirements

All vehicles carrying any quantity of dangerous goods, other than dangerous goods packed as Limited Quantities, must carry a minimum of 1 two kilo fire extinguisher.

If the vehicle is carrying a dangerous goods load, i.e. greater than that allowed under the small load concessions, zero kilo TC 0, 25 kilo TC 1, 333 kilo TC 2 and 1,000 kilo TC 3, then the quantity of fire extinguishers depends on the size of the vehicle:

• Less than 3.5 tonne: 2 x 2 kilo
• 3.5 tonne to 7.5 tonne: 1 x 2 kilo and 1 x 6 kilo
• Vehicles greater than 7.5 tonne: a total of 12 kilo, of which one shall be at least 6 kilo

Note these quantities are the minimum requirements.
