Historic city access
Central Durham’s older street pattern, riverside setting and busy pedestrian areas can make waste movements more sensitive than on a modern industrial estate. Premises should consider where hazardous waste can be safely stored, how containers will be moved to the collection point and whether access needs to avoid peak delivery or visitor periods. This is especially relevant for aerosols, chemical containers, WEEE, contaminated rags, oily wastes and small packaged hazardous items generated by workshops, facilities teams, hospitality operators and maintenance contractors.
