Waterfront and maintenance wastes
Plymouth’s waterfront and long-established marine identity make oily and workshop-related wastes particularly relevant considerations for local businesses. Waste oil, oil filters, fuel filters, contaminated rags, aerosols, tyres and chemical containers can all arise from maintenance, repair and engineering activities. Sites with external drainage, washdown areas or vehicle movements may also need to think about interceptor tank and oil-water separator waste. Keeping these streams separate from general commercial waste is important, especially where engineering, storage and office functions share the same premises.
