City-centre premises and maintenance waste
Truro’s compact city centre includes shops, offices, restaurants, public buildings and visitor-facing premises where hazardous waste can arise during routine operation or refurbishment. Typical examples include fluorescent tubes from lighting upgrades, WEEE from IT replacements, aerosols from maintenance stores, cleaning chemicals, contaminated wipes and small quantities of paint or chemical residues. These streams should not be placed into general commercial waste. A planned collection helps premises managers keep different waste types separated and avoids storage areas becoming cluttered with legacy hazardous items.
